Okay so it is not that cold outside, even though the car thermometer said 13 Celcius today. What I am referring to is chili! I decided to make a big crock pot batch of Cuzzy chili this morning and I just turned on the slowcooker. Eight hours til tasty dinner. I got up early today and drove Katie to work and hit the Superstore at what I now know as the best time ever to do your grocery shopping. At 8:30am the place is dead and you can really whip around the store and get in and out fast.

Check out the pictures if you want of the cooking action but in case you don’t like visuals here is the recipe I used.

Cuzzy likes chili, chili

  • pack of ground beef, cooked
  • pack of ground lamb, cooked
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 2 jalepeno peppers chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • fresh cilantro, cut up
  • 2 cans of red kidney beans
  • 2 cans of diced tomatos with juice (I mashed up the second can for more juicy paste)
  • 2 tps of chili powder
  • 1 tps of choptile powder
  • a few drops of tobasco sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • a really really big stir

Throw it all into your slow cooker (mine is a 5) and put it on for 6-8 hours on low. The house will smell great all day and then you get to eat it later!
