Sunday

The Amazing Race, 9 p.m., CTV. Now that my girls are out, I can just watch the show with no stress at all and enjoy the scenery and all the bitching between the couples.

Behind the Scenes: Trailer Park Boys The Movie, 10 p.m. and midnight, Showcase. The specialty channel presents an extensive infomercial for the big screen debut of its hit comedy franchise. I can’t believe the movie took this long to come out, all of Nova Scotia will be lined up for this one.

Monday

The Bachelor: Rome, 10 p.m., ABC, ASN. I can hear guys everywhere saying, “Is that show still on?” Amazingly, yes. Prince Lorenzo Borghese is the lucky stiff in this ninth edition of the show. I do not know anyone who still admits to watching this show.

Tuesday

NHL on TSN Season Preview, 8:30 p.m., TSN. Tie Domi did not offer me a million bucks to keep quiet about his debut as a hockey analyst for the sports channel, which will occur during this special. Can’t wait to hear all the Belinda jokes.

Friday Night Lights, 9 p.m., NBC, Global. The first episode of this drama is phenomenal commercial television. If the rest of the series set in the world of Texas high school football can live up to this high standard, it’ll be terrific. Why is this not on Friday?? Does that make too much sense? Also why did they make this show, there was a movie right.

MLB Playoffs, 9 p.m., Fox, Sportsnet. With the regular season wrapping up, the boys of summer cast an eye toward the fall classic. The first step to getting to the World Series, though, is winning a division series. I am just happy the regular season is over and the games are actually interesting to watch now. Plus here in Canada, the Jays are gone so we can fully focus on hockey and how much the Leafs are going to suck.

Wednesday

NHL, 8:30 p.m., TSN. They battled at Metro Centre in an exhibition game. Tonight the Ottawa Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs for real to open the season. If you can stay up late, this game is followed by the Dallas Stars visiting the Colorado Avalanche at 11 p.m. If you read down a little further you will know why I won’t be watching. Uh hello Lost is on.

The Fifth Estate, 9 p.m., CBC. The current affairs series marks its 32nd season premiere with a piece about three young men from Toronto’s rough Jane and Finch area . Ah Jane and Finch, never went there but I heard it was a treat.

Lost, 10 p.m., ABC, CTV. Theorizing about the Byzantine back story of this series’ island location will not bring back its former crispness. More poig-nant flashbacks might. Please, please give me some direction and stop confusing us all. I hope Kate got a new shipment of tank tops.

The Nine, 11 p.m., ABC. This show about nine people in a bank when there is a hold up looks pretty good to me. Although it feels a lot like Lost in a bank. I am sure there will be a lot of back stories of why the people were in the bank and what made them go to the bank and why they almost did not go to the bank etc. I do not care I will check it out because usually after Lost ends I will watch anything that is on.

Thursday

Hockey Night in Canada, 8 p.m., CBC. That’s weird. There hasn’t been much hullabaloo about Peter Mansbridge and The National being bumped tonight for a doubleheader. The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Ottawa Senators in the opener, followed by the Calgary Flames visiting the Edmonton Oilers at 11 p.m. Katie will not be pleased, we will have to watch CTV news and the wonderful Frisco for local.

Friday

Who are we kidding, nobody watches televison on Friday, go rent a movie!

Saturday

The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner, 11 p.m., Comedy Network. If this plays out anything like the Pamela Anderson roast, Captain Kirk’s ears will be burning for quite some time. I have heard great things about this but I doubt I will remember it is on. This post will be pushed so far down the page and in my mind I will forget.
