I used to thnk after Seinfeld I would never be into watching Sit-Coms again. Yes there were the odd ones that were okay and of course there was Curb Your Enthusiasm and the Office (Brit version) but they were not really Sit-Coms to me.
Now in the past few seasons CBS is starting to get it right again and has a nice little thing going on Monday night’s with three solid and funny comedies. I am of course speaking of The Class, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men. Really you could throw King of Queens in there as well to make a nice four-pack because it has stood the test of time even though it has never gotten a nice time slot.
The Class has really impressed me in it’s first three shows and it is very funny. The characters are all new with fresh faces and the writing is well done. I know Katie has laughed out loud for this show more than I can remember. You should be able to identify or even feel like you know one of the characters based on your own life.
I have already gone on about how much I like How I Met Your Mother on this blog so I won’t say too much. It is also well done and the characters seem real to me. My only hope is that now it has some strong shows around it, more people will watch and it will stay around for awhile. It is one of those shows that could easily get lost in the shuffle.
It took me sometime to get around to seeing Two and a Half Men and when I have seen it, it is funny. I always figured Charlie Sheen had no talent to be funny and it turns out he is not too bad. I used to think the kid would be annoying and he is not too bad. So if I have no flipped the channel to see CSI Miami I may watch the men a bit more.
