One of the things I wanted to look up after being in PEI on the weekend is how long is the longest bridge in the world. After driving over Confedertation Bridge it is hard to imagine any that are longer. You cannot see the other end of it and it takes about 20 minutes to drive across it. So now that I have looked it up, it appears that it ranks 12th in the world.

The Confederation Bridge measures 12,900 metres while the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in the U.S.A. measures in at 38,422 metres. At least the Confederation Bridge ranks as the longest in Canada and by far the longest I have ever been over.
