This morning I watched the sixth episode of Extras for season 2. It was one of the funniest of the season yet it left me feeling a little sad. Why? Because that was it for the show and there are no plans in the works to make more. I have read others making the joke that they will make some Christmas specials like the Office did. That seems kind of predicatable for Ricky.
The final episode had many laughs and many more awkward moments that for some are gut wrenching to watch. For some reason I really enjoy those moments because they are so rarely put into shows even though we all have those moments in day to day life or at least know someone who does.
I hope the actor that plays Maggie shows up in more because she may of been the best part of the show. Her dumb comedic timing was alway perfect and she certainly had some of the best lines written for her. As usual they never made Ricky and Maggie get together altough we all know in time they would.
Stephen Merchant, playing the agent, also had a great second season and had some great lines too. His love of the simple things made for many laughs like with the pen and the naked women.
I would love it if there is a third season and Ricky I pray you do one but if that was it then I will be satisfied as well.
I for one can say without a doubt that I was having a laugh.
Here is what the guys over at the TVsquad had to say about last night’s show.
How do you round off a series like Extras?
Well, nabbing someone like Robert De Niro for the finale is probably one of the best places to start, and as sad as I am to see this fantastic show come to an end (let’s hope I’m wrong), I’m happy with the way Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant let their characters walk off into the sunset.

Here are some clips of the show.
Many, many more clips right here.

2this is the funniest show in the entire world. this man is a genius and will be a huge star both in great britain and america. he was the co-writer of the office, which was not only a hit on the BBC but also now the american version on NBC is hilarious. Watch for this guy to be in a lot of movies and shows in the future!
