race car

Good morning to everyone out there in BLog land. It is Monday so there must be something worthy to write about today. I am on my days off now and am really happy about that. I slept in pretty late for me today so I guess my body needed to catch up on some rest.

Yesterday was a pretty fun day and we completed all our tasks in a very impressive planned out day. After I got home from work I had a sleep until about 11am when both Kaite and I got up. I cooked up some eggs and bacon and we had the typical Sunday morning.

Then it went to very new and exciting for one Katie Rose. For those of you who do not know by now (Classsic Lost side story flash back here) Katie got her learners permit last Tuesday to drive. She has never gotten her license since she grew up in Toronto and never really needed to drive. So now that we have a car I know she really wants to add driving to one of her many skills. So Tuesday she passed the test, got the picture done and bam, license to drive (almost).

So yesterday was the first time we went out for a drive on the open roads of Halifax. First I drove us out to Long Lake to take Bosco for a walk in the fall chill and try to get him tired out. He had a fun time smelling all there was to smell. Once he was satisfied we all got back in the car and I drove us over to Starbucks because Katie was out of coffee at home. She grabbed a hot chocolate for good luck and we were off again. I drove us a little out of the city until we found some nice quiet roads and then it was time for katie to take the wheel.

Was she nervous? Of course. Did her hands sweat all over the wheel? You bet. But she did great I think, getting a feel for the car and the lane she was in. Other cars made her a little worried but that will go away in time. She weaved the streets for about 20 minutes, going at various speeds. We finally switched it up and I drove us home. Good job Katie, we will go again soon.

We got home at 2pm, just in time for me to plop myself on the couch and watch the Raps game. As the intros were on I got a fire going so the room would be all nice and cozy for some Raptors ball. It is too bad the Raptors shooting was not as hot as my fire because other than a run at the end of the first quarter they looked a little overwhelmed by the Spurs. It is going to take some time for this team to gel but I really like the pieces they have when it does happen. A part of me really wishes I was back living in Toronto so I could go to some games.

As the fourth quarter went on, it was clear that the Raps were going to lose so we went to get some groceries because we can now on Sundays! The shelves were not quite stocked so well but we got what we needed. Home for the night and we had some left over pizza for dinner once we both caught up with our parents on the phone.

The rest of the night was pretty low key, Studio 60, Amazing Race and Grey’s Anatomy on the tube.

What is in store for today??? Tune in later to find out.
