Here’s the deal. Any Raptors fans have to be patient for a couple of reasons. First, Bosh is hurt and not at 100%. When he is, few can stop him. His health and finding his rhythm are a bit off right now. Secondly, 75% of their roster has been playing together in the greatest basketball league in the world for a month. Three quarters of these guys WEREN’T in the NBA last year. Imagine if you tried that in the NFL? Or NHL? They would lead the lead in ‘Confused looks at the bench.’ The jury is still out on the Ford/CV deal. We are only 14 games in.

In the NBA, more so than any other league, you have to first learn to hate losing before you learn to love winning. That’s what makes Magic and Larry so special - they won right away. Doc, Isiah, MJ, and Shaq all had to pay lots of dues.

There are reasons to be optimistic.

Colangelo. Bosh. Good contracts on their roster. Calderon. Garbo. A renewed sense of effort this year…

Here are some early observations:

Guys are penetrating, kicking it out, and then the outside J is NOT being shot. Why? Take it (Jones not withstanding).

Jose will be the PG down the stretch.

Not boxing out kills ‘em. They need an Oakley type banger.

They are smarter this year.

Graham is asserting himself. He’s a specimen.
