The coaches are the real suckers

Edwin never runs when he punches. They don’t make ‘em like that in the Zor.
Since everyone is blowing the fight at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night out of proportion, I might as well weigh in.
Do you ever notice how video clips start right at the point of excitement, but rarely do they show the entire preamble?
For instance, everyone remembers Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch, but why? Was he trying to distract people from his answers to questions like, ‘How did you and Katie meet?’ and ‘What has gotten in to you?’ Perhaps, I mean, Oprah (and others) asked those (legitimate) questions and we still don’t know the answers.
Which brings us to the fight and my point. When are the coachs going to catch some heat, and in this case, I’m talking about George Karl.
Isiah stared at him for a prolonged period late in the blow out. Why do you think he was doing that?
Then Isiah warned Carmelo (apparently, I’ve only seen video of him mouthing the words, but not to whom it is directed). So Thomas issued a subtle and direct warning, yet Karl allowed it to ensue.
Remember when Steve Moore refused to fight? Why was Moore out there, a marked man in a heated game’s third period? Ever notice that since that incident, Tony Granato has been mentioned as a possible head coaching candidate in exactly zero head coaching vacancies since he was fired. I knew that Ted Nolan was going to get a job before Granato.
Karl called Isiah a ‘jerk.’ But Karl could be called blind for not noticing the guy jumping on the couch right in front of him.
By the way, no one is buying the, ‘wanted to protect our 23 point lead with 90 seconds left.’ If the NBA allowed for a “last minute 25 point attempt,” the Raptors would have tried it numerous times over the last 4 years. Sure, they would have failed in that attempt, but at least Karl would have a leg to stand on.
