Raps get no respect

Okay is has been a good 14 hours since the Raps-Mavs game ended and I can finally talk about it without shouting a number of not so blog friendly words. What a game, what an ending, what a bunch of horse-%$#!. Whoops I guess the feelings are still raw. Well for those of you who missed it Toronto came within a few seconds of beating the best team in the NBA. But in the end like they always do, the Dallas Mavericks pulled out a win in the last few seconds. ACC fans must be sick of these endings and I know I am getting pretty tired.

Here is where today’s outcome was different. I am not mad at the Raptors for blowing a 16-point lead. Come on we all knew Dallas would come back and make a game of it. The Raps fought and fought and it was an entertaining game. I don’t think I sat down for most of the second half. There was a lot of yelling, cheering and pulling my hair. Bosh was dominating, Barg was showing glimpses of greatness and T.J. was going up against Terry pretty even. But of course Dirk got fired up and took the game over.

So where is the no respect part? Well I would think that most Raps fans would agree, that game was a joke when looking at the officials. Yes I will say it and David Stern can take away my NBA ball if he wants. The Refs butchered that game. Bosh was getting fouled everytime down the floor and those two final jump balls?? A joke! Mo Pete was tackled like he was playing in one of the NFL playoff games.

With Cuban in the crowd and Dirk yelling and glaring for 48 minutes it is no wonder the refs caved. It just proves that the Raps get no respect when the NBA’s poster team rolls into town. Do they know that Bosh is going to get voted into the All-Star game? Do they know the Raps are in first in their division? Do the Refs even know they were in another country?

JPR and I talked right after the whistle and the only thing that came up was the word horse-%&$@. Two people who watch a lot of Raps games had the same feeling of theft. Two fans who know the Raps bad history of closing out games both feeling like K-Fed. What the hell had just happened?

Now I am not saying they blew that last play and fell asleep on D but it should of never got to that point. I hope we get another chance at the Mavs and kick their lucky ass up and down the court some time soon. I may just have to buy the latest video game and load up a game to get my revenge. I just hope the computerized refs are not getting paid by big daddy Cuban.

Okay deep breath, it was just one game.
