When I last left you we were headed out to do some shopping yesterday. Katie drove to Mic Mac Mall and experienced her first trip over a bridge. It all went well execept for a slight miss at the toll booth. No big deal we had extra quarters and it taught Katie to pull up closer in the future. I think she did fine in the busy mall traffic and made a perfect and straight park.

The mall was busy and full of great deals. We are both not big shoppers but we did manage to leave with quite the haul. I got some new jeans and a new shirt and Katie got some new duds for her wardrobe as well. There were some stores that were not that that I was hoping to check out but that leaves us with going to the Halifax Shopping Centre next weekend. Who knows we could become shoppers afterall.

A quick stop at Starbucks and we were home to relax. For dinner it was a simple plan but it turned out to be so tasty. I made up some potatoes and some chicken wings. The wings were frozen ones but the tators were all me. Chopped up spuds tossed in a bag with olive oil and onion soup mix. Shake it all up and roast for 45 minutes at 450. They were so tasty and Katie could not stop talking about them.

The feature film of the night was Babel. I had heard a lot about this movie and really wanted to see it when it came out last year. It was slow moving and hard to get into but the moments of tension made it interesting to me. It all did come togethet at the end but I still felt like I was missing something. I may have to do some reading or even watch it again. The performances were strong for the most part and even the sub titles did not bug me too much. I would suggest checking it out because it is one of those movies that will be discussed and talked about.

Right now I am half way into my Sunday shift at work. So being in the spirit I will make my picks for today’s NFL semi-final showdowns.

Take the Bears (2 1/2) and take the Patriots (+3)

Hope that makes you some cash.
