So how many people will start their blogs off about the Super Bowl today? I would suspect a lot. Well I don’t really care that it is the big day on the football world but it seems to be the only title worth choosing for today. I am sure we will check it out later and dine on some not so healthy football type food. It would be nice if we at least got to see all the pricey Amercan network ads but instead will will get a large assortment of crappy ads and Global promos.
Before I look ahead to today, let us take a look back on yesterday. I finished my work for the week at 9am and had a longer than normal drive home. The roads were slick and there was an accident on the Rotary so I had to take a little detour. Once home I took care of the Boss and then went to bed til about noon when Katie and I both got up to start the day. We cooked up some bacon and eggs and eased into a very lazy Saturday. After that we took Bosco for a walk around town and got home just as it was getting pretty cold out.
I caught up on some TV shows and Katie did her crossword for some of the afternoon. There was a lot of reading and listening to music as well. We started getting ready to go out on the town. Katie got some tickets for Neptune Theatre for Christmas so we were going to see the Love List and have some dinner beforehand.
Katie drove us downtown and we parked before walking over to Curry Village I have nto been out for Indian food since I left Toronto so I was very excited. We ordered some rice and naan bread to share and I got the buttered chicken and Katie for a hotter chicken dish (forget the name) Turns out even though mine was very good it did not have the kcik that I needed so Katie and I shared each others and her dish certainly had a kick. My lips were burning for the rest of the evening. I had a white russian to wash down the tasty food and Katie had a glass of the house red. I would certainly go back there again and I left feeling very full and satisfied. That is all I really need to know when choosing where to eat.
We walked over to Neptune Theatres and picked up our tickets. It was a full house and we were up in the balcony which actually had a cool view of the stage. I do have to say the seats are very small and pretty much like how movie seats were back in the day. The play that we saw was called the Love List and here is the rundown.
In this sophisticated, sexy comedy, two men dare to concoct a list of attributes of the ideal woman - the “top ten” best qualities in a mate. When this “ideal woman” actually arrives on the scene, the men quickly learn that their list could use a few revisions. The Love List is a wonderful, witty play about the quest for perfection, by a brilliant Maritime writer!
I went in not really knowing how I would like it but it was being touted as a comedy so I was optimistic about it. I really liked it and it was very funny. I found it to be like watching a sit-com live and it reminded me a lot of a show like Frasier but a little more British. The cast was great and for the whole play I was trying to figure out where I had seen the one guy before. It was driving me crazy so of course I checked it out on the net and I was right. I had seen Robin Ward before. He was on the Weather Network before and has been in many movies, usually playing a reporter.
The play including intermission was just under two hours so it was a perfect time limit for me and the tiny chair I was stuck in. The only downside to the whole evening was the guy next to Katie must of had something for dinner that did not settle too well because he was burping through the whole show. Every now and then you would here this little grunt noise or burp. Kind of gross and afterwards we discussed the scary thought of what was going on that we did not hear!
We walked back to the car and Katie drove us home. We just chilled out for a bit before going to bed. I don’t really remember falling asleep so cleary I was tired. All in all a very fun night out on the town in the Fax. Oh ya I wore a new shirt!
So now we are back to today’s lineup of fun and crazy. Not that much going on really. My plan is to walk the mighty Boss and check out the new dump of snow we got overnight. Then settle in on the couch to watch an early afternoon Raptors game. After that we may go for a drive and I will try to catch some of the Pistons-Cavs game as well. After that it is all about the Super Bowl! At least in TV land it will be. I am sure the pregame show has already started on some of the channels.
I think for dinner we are going to check out the newest addtion to our littl hood here. A new pizza joint opened up just a stones throw from our front door. It is across from the gas station on Chebucto for those of you who know our area. It is called Dimitris Pizza and after checking out the menu that was in the mail box it has some potential. Hell because it is so close I may even over look it if it is not that good.
So I will close this post with a prediction for tonight’s game. I don’t have any money on it but because of where I work, I feel like I need to make a pick. So here goes.
Bears 27 Colts 21 (Bears don’t cover as 6 1/2-point dogs)
