BOSTON–Celtics GM Danny Ainge, whose team is currently in the running to secure the top pick in this year’s NBA draft, has a message for Ohio State freshman Greg Oden: staying in school is for pussies. The 7’0 Oden, who is considered the best prospect in college basketball, is undecided about whether to return to college next year and Ainge is hoping his advice helps in the decision making process.

“If you’re as good a prospect as Greg Oden and you choose to forgo the draft in order to stay in school, there’s something wrong with you,” Ainge told the Boston Herald. “Greg, staying in school is for pussies. Take my advice and high-tail it out of there. What’s the point of another year of studying, being broke, and going to lame-ass keg parties, when you can come to the NBA and be an instant millionaire? You can buy that school if you want. You can make it into a guest house.”

Ainge denied giving Oden the advice for selfish reasons, and said he was merely trying to help the youngster make the right decision for himself and his family.

Finally Danny Ainge is showing some signs of doing something right!

The Celtics just lost their 18th straight game tonight and the Celtics history is getting flushed down the toilet. I can only imagine how sombre the mood is in Beantown these days. Fans watching old VHS tapes of Bird, Mchale and Parrish running the floor. Sadly they will get a glimpse of Ainge and throw something through the screen.

If Ainge and the Celtics can somehow get Oden in this year’s draft there is hope. But my guess is they will totally mess it up and instead end up with Zach Randolph and his giant van full of baggage.

Deep down I want to see the Celts do well, I cheered for them during my early days as an NBA fan. I even loved when Ainge was gunning money three balls and helping lead Boston to a few titles. But that does not mean you know how to run a team. The decisions over the years have been pretty bad and in my personal opinion the Green and White went downhill when Antoine Walker was traded (the first time).

Ainge should change his MSN messanger name to Oden or Bust because that is what his job is going to come down to. I feel for the guy because we all know the ghost of Red Auerbach is going to come in the middle of the night and strike Danny boy down with the worst luck in the world. Then again, letting him keep his job could be even worse.

If all else fails the Celtics can hire Daniel Stern to kidnap Greg Oden and make him play for Boston.

Celtics fans I do feel your pain, I really do. Just look at the Raptors not too long ago. We were just as bad as you and going nowhere fast. Now we are a million miles ahead of you in the division and rolling along towards a bright future. It can happen fast but change is needed.

Good luck and I hope you don’t break the record for most losses in a row in NBA history.
