I know Katie won’t mind because she knows she is the one but I would like to declare my love for the new and improved Toronto Raptors. Okay so I have already done that many times this year but last night (although they almost pissed it away) was a statement game for the Raptors season.

On this Valentine’s day of 07 who would of imagined Toronto would be in first place and coming off a win in the Windy City. It was just two years ago when I took Katie to see the Raptors vs. the Bulls on Valetine’s day and it was clear on that night who the better team was, not Toronto.

Last night Toronto played a great game for about 45 of the 48 minutes and pulled out a tough win against a team they had not beaten in close to seven years. Okay they fell apart at the end and I had to question Sam’s move of pulling Jose when he was carving up the Bulls but a win is a win. It would of been a real kick in the dino balls to lose that one after playing so well. Bosh hit his free throws, game over son.

I am sure Andreas Bargnani is getting a lot of Valentine’s today from friends, family and even teamates. His game last night was wicked. Gunning threes, dunking, passing and throwing back a few Bulls shots. He is emerging as a top player and it is scary to think how good he will get. Call me crazy but how long before he is starting and Jorge is coming off the bench?

Jose Calderon is playing out of this world and is like cupid out there flinging passes like little arrows of love. It is like somewhere in his brain it has clicked in that he is awesome and he is going to kill whoever he plays. Henrich could not stop him and he is a coach’s son “out of” Kansas.

So Katie, you know you are my main squeeze but please forgive me if my heart is being stolen away by this special team of ballers from Toronto. They do more than bring the flowers and chocolates, they are bringing big wins and a lot of smiles to this Raptors fan on the East coast.

Went to See Henry

My parents will like this story, Katie and I wnt out for a low key Valentine’s dinner last night at the Henry House. The plan was to see a movie as well but between our low energy and the lack of worthy movies we just decided on dinner. So to the Henry House we went. It is one of the oldest pubs in town and has some amazing classic British fare. Mum and Dad, we had your favorite waiter and I am sure if I would of mentioned it he would of remembered you, at least dad’s white beard anyways. Katie had the Oktoberfest sausage and mash and I had a classic burger and fries. An organic wheat ale washed it down for me, yes Sarah, organic beer.

Tiny tech triumph

I have been having some major issues with the sound on my computer since I moved it to the other side of the room. Static was driving me crazy through the speakers or headphones. No worries, yesterday I finally fixed it. Pretty simple, I blew as hard as I could into the hole on the back of the computer and bam, must of cleared some dust.

Futures odds

Yep work leaks into my post today but of course with a Raptors spin. At the beginning of the year everything Toronto related was a total long-shot, how times have changed. Nice to see Vegas taking notice. Bettors certainly love the Raptors, in basic terms, Toronto is the best team in the NBA at covering the spread. Crazy!
