So the big NBA All-Star Game was last night and just for the record I managed to stay awake for the whole thing. Quite the accomplishment since it was on late and it was not exactly high drama sports. I got out of it what I wanted to. Saw a lot of pretty dunks and some very well played ball (to look at anyway) and I got to see my man Bosh start over the likes of Vince Carter and Jermaine O’Neil.

The West took over early and pretty much made the game boring by the half. Everytime down the floor it was dunk, dunk, dunk and the Phoenix duo of Amare and Marion contuned to play pretty much the way they play all the time with the Suns. Kobe and D-Wade put on a show and LeBron had some great moves. But in the end the game boiled down to the same thing. Boredom by the third quarter.

Did anyone see Toni Braxton? Man I remember the days of her white jump suit when she was making us all high on her hotness. Last night the close ups on her face we scary, it might as well of been Gilbert Arenas belting out that song. Don’t worry though Christina came out and showed off the pipes and washed the Braxton taste out of our mouth.

The second half was just like the first, the West killed and I think even let up near the end. It was nice to see Bosh finally get some touches and score some hoops. Near the end after a dunk by Bosh it sparked a conversation among the commentators about the Raptors. Doug Collins thinks they are more than a team that will make the playoffs and go away. He thinks the Raps can do some damage due to their depth and strong team play. In case you think Dougie is talking out of his ass, he did pick Kobe to be the MVP last night.

So now we have a day off and then it is back to NBA ball how it is supposed to be. Team vs. Team where both teams (most nights) will try and put away the smiles and jokes and push towards the playoffs. Except Vince Carter of course. I think he plays every game with All-Star Game intensity, that may explain why he may have some nice dunks but he never wins.
