Well it is Sunday morning, the last five days have flown by it seems so today I have to enjoy the last hours before going back to work. Classic early morning peace on Kline. I have my tea and all I can hear is the hum of the aquarium behind me. The animals have gone elsewhere in the house since they are not getting their way and Katie is still sleeping off a busy Saturday.
Yesterday we had planned to go on an adventure, partly to go somewhere new and partly to get more driving practice in for Katie. So the destination picked was Bridgewater. No real reason other than we had never been and it was the right distance we wanted to go. For those of you who know the area, it is next stop after Lunenburg on the 103 West.
So after walking Bosco and getting ready we were in the car just before 11am. With Katie at the wheel the first stop was Tim Hortons to fuel up on breakfast sandwiches. It was a good start to training day since Katie had to park in a somewhat busy parking lot.
A few tasty sandwiches later we were back in the car and heading for the 103. This would be a good test of driving for Katie and a good test of patients for me. Everything went fine of course, changing lanes, speeding up and slowing down and of course managing the tunes. It was fun to see Katie so focused on the road and talking to the car and of course the death grip she had on the wheel
Just over an hour later we arrived in BW and found a gas station to take a break and do a switch up since Katie at this point was pretty tired from driving. We stretched our legs and then went and parked in downtown Bridgewater. Don’t let that fool you, it was not that big. We walked around and got the lay of the land, took some pictures and walked back to the car. There were some navy ships docked on the river there for some unknown reason. They looked very old and dirty but since it is Canada they could of been an important part of our fleet.
Back to the car and the open road, with me driving now. Katie spent the trip home drifting in and out of consciousness. We got home at a fairly decent time so it left a good part of the afternoon to relax and do whatever. Katie read the paper and I finished off my Patterson book.
Around 6pm we made a move to get ready and drag ourselves out of the comfort of the house to go out for dinner. The plan was Montana’s out in Bayers Lake but when we got there it did not look good. On a side note to this, Katie drove out there in the dark and it was snowing, hoo-ray. As we were walking in two different groups of people said good luck to us as we went in. I guess they were very busy and backed up. So of course the waiting time was an hour. We said screw that and went over to Boston Pizza where we got a table right away.
We had a super chatty waitress named Tash and she must of been working us for a large tip since she mentioned she was going to Jamaica. We started with some potato skin apps and some drinks. Katie with the classic Ceasar and I got the Thunder Mug of Keiths. It was a very large mug of brew that was almost embarrasing to hoist to my mouth but of course I drank it all. For dinner I had a smll Meat-eor pizza and Katie had a Chicken salad thingy. Hot eats, cool treats and lots of meats summed up this dinner.
Once stuffed and ready to go home we hit the road, I drove just in case you wondered. Katie had done enough for one day I think and did really, really good. Once home it was time to catch the remainder of the Raps game and it was a good one. They blew out the Bobcats and moved six games over the .500 mark. Now they hit Texas for two very tough games. I am expecting them to maybe steal one but won’t be suprised if they lose both.
We caught up on some CSI, watched a bit of SNL and called it a night. Talk about a busy day on Kline Street. No wonder Katie is still sleeping soundly. Who wants to bet her arms are sore today from all the driving??
