As the seasons start to climax on network TV it means that in a few weeks summer time will hit early in television land. Okay I know 24 and Lost have several episodes left but already networks are finishing seasons and tossing in some new mid-season projects.

Not to worry if you have HBO, Showtime or the knowledge to download. Starting in April there is one popular choice and one anticipated choice coming to the small screens. Of course I am talking about the return of Entourage and the premiere of The Tudors.

April 8, Vince, Eric, Drama and  Turtle are back for another season and I personally can hardly wait. I have watched Entourage since day 1 but I have to say as the seasons have gone on the show has gotten better. Last season there were some great episodes and moments that I have watched in reruns many times. I mean how can you forget Drama and that dude in the hotel, or Ari’s great line, “He’s like Dakota Fanning with a dick”.

I have not seen any previews yet but I am assuming it will continue where the story left off. Ari and the boys having trouble seeing eye to eye on Vince’s career.  I hope this is the year that everyone else starts to notice the great work Kevin Dilon does and I hope he gets some kind of nomination. Only adding to my excitment for this show to return is the commercial on during CBS’s March Madness when Turtle tells us all about DirectTV 20 times a game.

Over on Showtime (still hating you for canning Huff) they are rolling out a new show that is getting a lot of buzz. The Tudors staring that soccer coach from Bend it Like Beckham. It is clear that ST has seen the success of Rome and wants to get on that train so they have created a show that has been called a mix of Rome and Deadwood. If that is true I will watch every week but I tend to not like comparisons like that and will have to give the show a look for myself.

If you want to find out more of the show and get an early look check out this article. I guess they had the first two shows online for free but in Canada we cannot access the Showtime site so I was unable to watch. April 1 is getting pretty close though so hopefully I can watch and not feel like an April fool for tuning in.

Bored of what is on, try out these shows

  • Sleeper Cell
  • The Unit
  • Rescue Me
  • Deadwood
  • Huff (just two seasons)
  • Extras
  • First few seasons of The Office
  • Dexter
