Hmmm…I’m thinking it was a bit early to be throwing punches in that scenario. Sure he saw Robida coming in to get in his face but IMO the punch was excessive. You could argue that Tootoo was expecting a fight and decided to dispense with the formality of shoving each other around first but I think what happened is precisely the kind of thing that the NHL has got to clamp down so it doesn’t become the norm.

Yah I agree with all that, I think the bigger picture needs to see the NHL set some ground rules where players think twice. David Stern may be a control freak but he runs the show in the NBA. If you fart wrong its a fine.

Who is running the NHL? The league or the owners?
