Good Sunday to you all, it is nice to be back and blogging. I am working today but that does not mean I have the odd moment to work on some posts. I need to catch up after being off the grid for a whole day. So what has been happening on Kline? Well I finally won the battle of the drains. Over the last few weeks both are bathroom sink and tub clogged up and caused some teenage angst when getting ready in the morning.
After trying out most of the products on the market both drains are clear and running smooth. In case you are wondering I would have to say the no name drain cleaner worked the best and yes it was the cheapest. The fancy pants Power Jet can did nothing at all. It says they will give you the money back if it does not work, you can bet I will be getting my $4.99 back. It is not the money really it is more the principal.
So with a clear drain and a clear mind it was time to get on with the weekend.
Friday night
- bbq’d some burgers and tators, good stuff. It was nice to be one with nature again grilling.
- watched NCCA ball while keeping an eye on the Raps score since it was not on normal TV.
Saturday
I woke up and actually did not go to the computer. I made a tea and sat in front of the TV to catch up on some late scores. It was weird it took me a second to figure out how to get late scores without the Internet. Funny how you forget how things used to be. Oh yah we have 24 hr Sports networks on TV.
Went and walked Bosco and enjoyed the nice spring air. There were people out washing their cars and of course all the other dog walkers. Once home it was time to start cooking some grub. I used the smell of bacon to lure Katie out of bed. It worked, she was downstairs in no time. We had a tasty brunch and got set for the day ahead.
The plan was to go for a drive so Katie could get in more practice before her driving test on Tuesday. So went went to Beford to check out the other Pete’s Froutique. The one downtown is a very fancy grocery store so we were excited to see the other one. It was located in Sunnyside Mall so it was also a chance to see some new stores.
The drive was nice along the water and the roads were not that busy. Until we got near the Chickenburger where it was like madness. The drive thru line looked like Tim Hortons on free coffee day.
Once at the mall we hit Pete’s and had a lot of fun looking around at all the fancy products. Katie picked up all the ingredients she needed for her dinner recipe and I picked up a few treats. As you can see below they looked very tasty.
We looked around the mall, Katie picked up some wine and a magazine and we were on our way home. Very nice day indeed.
For the rest of the afternoon we vegged in front of the TV and I watched some college basketball. Katie cooked up a great dinner of chicken, mashed tators and a salad. I have some leftovers of it today as well so I am excited. Katie is really becoming the queen of chicken over the last few weeks.
The feature film of the night was Alpha Dog with good old JT. It was an okay movie but it lacked a point and a bunch of characters you don’t really care about. I joked that is should of been called Entourage Wars.
Other weekend highlights
- Caught up with my Mum. They are well.
- Bosco is enjoying the spring like weather
- We may not have to get oil again this winter!!!
- I watched some of the Cable Guy on TV yesterday
- Going computerless was not that bad
