Man this is a crazy mashup, you can check out who is sick out their in the world (assuming they add it to the map).

This site focuses on current and local sickness. This Google Maps mashup aims to keep people aware of the illnesses that are going on in their areas by plotting runny noses, coughs, fevers, head aches, muscle aches, and stomach aches. Who is Sick’s mission is to provide that sickness information to the public, so they might not have to deal with the hassle of hospitals or doctors. Crazy stuff, so maybe you can see a cold coming before it gets to you??

Uh I see there are a bunch of colds over on Quinpool today, might want to stay clear.

The people behind the sickness map are supposedly healthcare professionals that are working to move this into a user friendly and valuable information location for the public. It’s certainly an interesting new approach to a mashup for the healthcare industry, who have been lacking in the mashup category.

I’m no expert, but if you feel like you should visit the doctor you should do so and not rely on a site like this to tell you otherwise. Although if you want to miss work or an upcoming exam and you see an outbreak in your area, at least you know where you can go to catch it.
