Dartmouth Crossing (Annoying)
Posted by Cuzzy as Halifax, Katie, daily news, opinions
Today we ventured over to Dartmouth to check out the new shopping village called Dartmouth Crossing. It is this large area on the way to the airport that will have pretty much every big box chain you can think of. Not a lot is open so far but we went to check it out anyways.
The drive is super easy and you cannot miss the place. It is on your left as you head towards the airport (if you are leaving Dartmouth)
We went to Petcetera and got some dog treats, fish food, a new chew bone for Bosco and a brush for Mercy. After that we went over to Staples and picked up this organizer thing for Katie so she does not have to keep all her stuff on the dining room table. A successful trip so far.
Then we were hungry so we drove around a little checking out the finer parts of Dartmouth before descending on the Mcdonalds just before the bridge.
It looked busy but whatever it will be fine we thought.
We go in and get into the shortest line, sweet right? Wrong. Katie went to sit and wait while I got the food. I waited and waited and waited. There were only two groups in front of me and honest to God I stood in the same spot for 20 minutes. The slowest server in the history of the world was working and here are some of the highlights (lowlights).
- Kept getting pushed out of the way for food by the other, more faster workers.
- Could not hear what he said
- He could not hear what you said
- First group waitied forever for a drink. He spilled the drink. Decided to clean up drink before getting people another drink. They protested.
- Went back to cleaning up mess very slowly before serving next customer. Must of wrung out the rag several times before realizing that there was a major line forming. Finally took order.
- This order took just as long because the customer had a slight accent and it threw “Josh” for a loop.
- Katie was ready to step in and make a scene, I held her back.
- After finally serving the guy I was up!
- Josh decided this is a good time to pick up some garbage on the floor and tie his shoe. He goes to tell his boss something, probably that he is tired or something and comes back.
- Takes my order, again gets boxed out by the other, faster workers. Can’t get to fries, just waits.
- Finally I have all my food and I grab it and run.
- Waiting time 20-25 mins, actual time at the counter getting food, about two minutes.
Oh my God!
Anyways the Big Macs went down a lot faster than it took to get them. Hell I think it took us less time to get home from there than I stood in that line. I would like to thank the lovely Katie for not taking a flamethrower to young Josh and holding her cool.
Drove home, unloaded, we are here.
naptime, thats my day so far.

McDonalds gets all the Tim Hortons rejects…or vice versa.
