Well I survived Game 2 and so did the Raptors. It was not pretty but in the end the right team won. I have to say the first quarter was about as bad I have seen basketball since my days at S.C.I.T.S.
The shooting was colder than a beer on a summer day and the over execution was about as fluid as a clogged toilet. Poor Sam Mitchell almost gave his Coach of the Year trophy back because he did not want to take credit for being in charge of that gang of ballers.
Luckily the rust came off and Anthony Parker, T.J. Ford and Chris Bosh got it going on. AP had a huge game scoring 26 points and playing wicked D on Vinnie. Bosh was a beast, finally figuring out that the Nets cannot stop him going to the hoop. Monster numbers for CB4 including some crunch time buckets that got the ACC going bananas.
I admit to having little faith in the Raps closing it out, visions of a game winning three danced in my head everytime New Jersey had the ball. I was very happy to see NUTBAR getting the big shot and nice VC.
Raptors win, Raptors win, Raptors win. Man Chuck must of sweat through his suit during that game. Tense.
Positives:
- Rasho played like a smiling giant. The back taps are pretty weak but he was working his ass off.
- Mo Pete had signs of life, good news for Raptors fans.
- Joey Graham was finally cemented to the bench, man is he stinking it up.
- Vince once again shyed away from the drive.
- The ACC was crazy loud.
- Toronto played horrible and still one.
Negatives:
- Bargnani continues to look lost.
- The assists are way down.
- All the Raps are going to have to go through their first road game now.
- Some bad decisions were made at crucial parts of the game.
Game 3 is Friday night!
