An ongoing feature on Cuzoogle is called The Seven and basically it is a list of whatever I want it to be. Simple but entertaining I think. I invite you all to submit your seven on whatever theme you want. I welcome your input and creative genius. To see all the previous seven posts just click here or on The seven under categories.
With the TV season shutting down this week for the most part I wanted to list off seven shows that I enjoyed watching this year. As always comments are welcome to what you also think.
- The Office - When this show came out I was against it from the start. I loved the British version so much I did not want to watch another group do the same thing. Finally just before Christmas I watched some of the American version and quicky got hooked. I had watched the first two seasons in weeks and was caught up with season three by the time new episodes starting airing again. It is by far one of my favourite shows on now and I look forward to Thursday nights because of it.
- How I Met Your Mother - This is one of those shows that I do not know anyone else who watches it but Katie and myself. I hope it stays around because it is one of the more funny shows on TV. I like it how I used to like Friends before it got crappy. The characters are well written and there are so many inside jokes for Canadians and a lot of stories that only the post 25 year olds would understand. Barney is a great character and easily gets put into the Johny Drama group of undervalued acting.
- 30 Rock - Two words. Alec Baldwin. Say what you want about him bitching out his daughter on the phone, this guy is funny. He nails his 30 Rock character so well I can’t imagine anyone else doing it. Add a crazy Tracey Morgan and awesome writing and this show is a hit.
- Heroes - Like the Office I took some time warming to this show. It wasn’t til after Christmas when I had heard too many people say “I can’t believe you are not watching Heroes” that I watched a few episodes and got hooked. I have soured a little but only becuase it is starting to remind me of some mish mash of Xmen and the Matrix. Still it is well done and what a comic should be like.
- Entourage - The boys never let me down! Vince, E, Drama and Turtle make my week and I usually watched each episode more than once. Add in Ari and that new hot agent for the second half of season three and the show is gold. I wonder how far this show can go before it gets old?
- Sleeper Cell - By far the best show I have watched this year and maybe in the last five years. This show got to me, creeped me out and brought me back every time it was on. So real, I don’t know how they got the information without having real terrorists on staff. You want a show that is like 24 but amped up even more, check out Sleeper Cell.
- Extras - Lastly good old Andy Millman came back with a strong second (and final) season of Extras. This year I found it to be all about the Agent and the girl. Andy’s agent had some of the best lines of the season and so did Andy’s girl “friend”. The cameo’s by Harry Potter and David Bowie were amazing and I will have that song in my head for a long time. “Chubby little fat man……..”
