With the Cavaliers only one game away from reaching the NBA Finals, David Stern and the NBA brass must be a little nervous. You see if the Cavs and Spurs meet up in what is supposed to be the be all and end all of the NBA season, there could be one powerful side story that could overshadow anything else. Everyone will get to see how the league ways in on two opposable forces known as LeBron James versus Bruce Bowen. Superstar against super villain. Offense against defense. The guy the NBA wants to show off to mom and the guy the NBA wants to keep in the basememt.

Which way will the league bend after the first incident of many that you know is going to happen. Bowen is going to carve up LeBron like Sunday dinner unless the league steps in and protects their next great marketing machine.

Here are a few ways I think the NBA can help out LeBron and avoid endless chatter on how the Spurs are robbing the NBA of better ratings and a better end product.

Just for the record I can go either way on this one. I can’t stand watching Bowen play. I think he is garbage and gets away with alot of shit. On the other hand I would love to see James get layed out like Nash did and see the powderkeg explode.

Ways the NBA can avoid a scandal if the Cavs and Spurs meet up.

- You know how in video games you can pick up a powerup or a forcefield that lasts for a few seconds? Scatter a bunch over the court and only allow LeBron to get them.
- Send Bruce Bowen to the island in Lost so he can be with The Others.
- Actually call a foul on the guy.
- Referees and Cavs players take the fathers daughter approach. Lay a hand on LeBron and we will kick your ass.
- David Stern makes up a rule that if your name is LeBron, nobody can guard you.
- The Cavs change up jerseys and LeBron wears Eric Snows jersey instead to throw off Bowen.

and finally my personal favourite.
