Yesterday was a busy day despite feeling like not a lot was done. It was another rainy day in Halifax so we decided to hit the mall. For those of you who don’t know Katie and I, shopping is not one of our favourite things to do and a mall is certainly a place we don’t go often. It was pouring very hard so it made for some fun driving and just a short run into the mall left us soaked. I love the strangers who look at you once in the door and ask if it is raining. Duh.

Anyways here is how the day went once we hit the mall.

Juice it or lose it

We walked around and looked and it always takes Katie some time to get the debit card cookin. She needs shopping momentum and then all is good. So that first purchase is key. She finally bought some pants and it was off to the races. After a shirt buy we stopped for a refreshment. At Juice It we got a couple smoothies and chilled out watching the masses go by. Some more window shopping, a trip to the book store and we had reached our quota for mall time. It was back to the car and time to hit Sobeys before going home.

Chop chop what is for dinner

We hit the booze store and got some beer and wine and then went next door to get some groceries for dinner and the week ahead. With Katie in Saint John for three days and then us leaving for Boston on Friday there was not much point getting a lot of food so we focused on Saturday and Sunday night’s dinner. These tasty looking pork chops already cut and packaged was the choice for Saturday along with some spinach salad. Sunday we grabbed all the ingredients for a nice big plate of nachos. Finally we went home!

Blame it on the rain

We got home and there was not a whole lot to do other than surf the net or flick the channels on the TV. I was watching the real estate channel checking out some house buys while Katie listened to some tunes and digging through old Cds. Pretty exciting! Thank god not before long it was time to fire up the BBQ, crack open a beer and get on with dinner.

The rain let up just long enough for me to grill up the chops in the backyard. They ended up tasting great along with the spinach salad and some rice. Add some beer and a glass of wine for Katie and it turned out to be a nice Saturday night dinner despite the crappy Hali-weather.

Glory road goes swimming

We ended up watching Pride after this and it was your typical mix of Remember the Titans, Glory Road and every other black athlete conquers world type movie. There was nothing wrong with it other than feeling like you have seen it before. Katie enjoyed all the swimming (swimmers) and now wants to get back into swimming so I guess that worked out well.

Sunday sun day?

Ideally the sun stays out today and we can finally just hang out in the backyard. Katie has to head back to SJ tonight so some relaxing time would rule. As I stated, nachos for dinner and other than that just more thinking and planning for the road trip to Boston on Friday.

  • Bosco wants to go for a walk.
  • Nickelback is here for Canada day, so sorry I will miss that!
  • NHL draft was Friday night and Saturday…..some nice trades.
  • Back to work for me tomorrow afternoon.
