The Man is the Moon
Posted by Cuzzy as NBA, Toronto RaptorsThe Raps added another body to the mix and maybe some much need athleticism.
The Toronto Raptors signed free-agent forward Jamario Moon to a two-year contract on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old participated in Toronto’s free agent camp last month.
He played 44 games with Albany of the Continental Basketball Association last season and finished seventh in CBA scoring with 18.8 points per game.
Moon was also fifth in the league in rebounding (7.8), third in steals (2.0) and second in blocks (2.4).
Will he be another classic BC diamond in the rough like Boris Diaw or Anthony Parker or just someone who takes Pape Sow’s place on the bench?? It can’t hurt to try and I like the odds that BC knows what he is doing.
Check out this picture of him throwing down on the Snoggle!
Wonder who is left on the free agent front as of today?
A look at the top remaining NBA free agents:
Darko Milicic, Orlando
A 22-year-old 7-footer with promise should be attractive; Memphis is only team with cap space and a need; otherwise, he’s a mid-level exception guy.
Mo Williams, Milwaukee
Point guard had breakout year, looking for big bucks and Bucks are balking; Miami’s in the hunt with a mid-level offer.
Anderson Varejao, Cleveland
Hard to put a value on hustle; Memphis kicking the tires, Cavs want to keep him but not at some exorbitant price.
James Posey, Miami
Heat non-committal about starter; could be destined to be involved in some kind of sign-and-trade transaction.
Mikki Moore, New Jersey
Nets have supposedly offered three years, $10 million; he’s going to look around and see if he can get a better deal. Likely not.
Sasha Pavlovic, Cleveland
Another tough decision for the Cavs but they have such a lack of outside shooting, it’d be a shock if they let him walk.
Morris Peterson, Toronto
Seems to be down to Utah and New Orleans for three-point specialist; he’s looking for the full mid-level; sign-and-trade with Raptors looks unlikely.
Joe Smith, Philadelphia
Guy known as Ordinary Joe attracting interest in Chicago, maybe New Jersey as teams search for a solid veteran presence.
Desmond Mason, New Orleans
Little has been heard about the Hornets swingman, he may fall through the cracks and land somewhere with a cheap contract.
Jamaal Magloire, Portland
He’s going to take a paycut but there’s a spot for Magloire if he wants to concentrate on rebounding, defending and shot-blocking somewhere.

Knicks are looking quite stacked right now. Can they put it all together? My guess is not but I’m hopeful.
Go Raps. If they ever got a board pig, they would be top of the East for sure. They gotta learn to get down and dirty.
