Sorry to say I was stuck at work and even the last minute tickets that were floating around I missed out on. The White Stripes were in Halifax yesterday and did not disappoint with many secret shows and their Icky Thump-ing concert at the Cunard Centre last night. So all I am left to is the Internet to try and feel like I was a part of it.

IT WAS A Stripes hunt instead of a snipe hunt, as fans of the Detroit avant-garde blues-rock duo the White Stripes were led on a merry chase around Halifax on Friday afternoon, hoping to catch a glimpse of band members Jack and Meg White and hear them play one of their infamous, impromptu “side shows.”
A lucky few did get to see the pair oversee the firing of an artillery piece from the historic fortress atop Halifax’s Citadel Hill, and a short, but frenzied set shortly afterwards at downtown’s Locas pool hall.
The band played a concert at the Cunard Centre on Friday night as part of a cross-Canada tour that includes all the provinces and territories, but as with many of their stops along the way they’ve been making afternoon appearances for fans tipped off by Internet message boards.
