Sunday was cleary the day of days for many reasons so what could possibly happen the day after? Well yesterday did not have as much noteworthy tales but it did not lack in fun and adventure.
- Katie left for Saint John and I could not get back to sleep so I was up at 7:30am. Made a tea and watched Entourage, not a bad way to start the day. Have you all seen the Medellin website?? It is pretty good for a fake movie and the trailer is better than a lot of actual films.
- Did the blogging and Internet scan before packing up Bosco in the car and heading out to Long Lake. We went on an adventure, most likey a good five km’s worth. There is a path that goes into the forest and keeps going. Yesterday we decided to see just how far and finally we gave up and turned around. As you can see from the map it goes on forever (starting at the top where it says St. Margaret’s Bay road).
- After making it back to the car Bosco and I were both very tired, sweaty and muddy but it was a great workout. We went home to rest and wait for the sun to come out. So much done at it was only 11am.
- Next I made some lunch and took care of the bills part of the month. It is a nice feeling to be all caught up again with cash to spare. After eating I made my list and hit the stores. I went to check out the cost of upgrading our cable to digital since our TV remote died. Well it turns out it would add 10 bucks to our bill which is not that bad but here is the rip0ff. They charge 49 dollars for installation. That means some guy comes over to attach a cable to it and plugs it in. I think Bosco could do that so I am not paying for it just to get an onscreen menu. I went to The Source and bought a new remote for 10 dollars, problem solved.
- Can I just make a comment of the Halifax Shopping Centre that will get all the Earth lovers mad. You know the giant mall directories that are usually placed just inside the door so you can find the store you want. Well they have removed them all and now you have to go to customer service and either ask the woman or take one of these maps. I think that is kind of a waste to make all these maps don’t you?
- Off to Sobeys to get some food for the week. Not a big list but I am all set up until at least the weekend.
- The rest of the afternoon was filled with watching Traveler, tidying up the house a bit and trying to read in the backyard but we have very loud and chatty neighbours so that did not work out so well.
- Luckily is was time to start to make dinner. The menu was homemade burgers and a spinach salad. This week’s burgers consisted of ground beef, left over rice, hot sauce, worchester sauce, bacon bits and some bread crumbs. I mashed them into patties and fired up the grill. After they were done I added blue cheese dressing to the spinach and called it dinner! Very tasty and light since I am making an effort to cut down on portions and see how that goes.
- After dinner it was a nice evening and I decided to take Bosco for another walk, he never says no even if he is actually tired. We walked around the Arm (Quinpool around to Chebucto and back). Along the way I took pictures down at the water and I think I got some pretty good shots. You can see them here and here.
- Finally getting home around 8:30pm it was official, we were both very tired. I ended up collapsing on the couch and watching Victoria Beckham: Coming to America. As bad as the concept sounded to me the show was not bad. Well laid out and she is quite entertaining and does not take herself serious at all.
- Shortly after this I dozed off on the couch, woke up and went to bed.

Not bad for the day after the day of days. Man what could possibly be in store for today.
