Just some of the stories going on in Halifax today. My parents are back from their vaction soon and I am sure this post will help them catch up fast.
Halifax shown signs of opposition to Chebucto Road traffic project
Chebucto Road residents against a proposed widening of the Halifax thoroughfare near the Armdale Rotary put up signs on about 20 of their front lawns Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to make the city stop the planned traffic project.
We live just off of Chebucto further down but I do think this proposed road work will make the street hell for months while it is done.
It’s not often that the doctor orders a prescription of beer and drugs, but Dr. Noni MacDonald says it might be just the right cocktail for reducing mumps cases in Nova Scotia.
When I saw this on the news so many images of people finding a way to get more booze out of this came to mind. Who knows if it will work but it sure is thinking outside the box.
Man takes frustration out on car dealership
Police arrested a middle-aged Halifax man Tuesday after a vehicle struck a car at a Halifax dealership.
A man backed his small Subaru into the side of a Toyota Camry parked in the lot of O’Regan’s Lexus on Kempt Road at about noon. The impact dented the front passenger-side door.
Although the man walked with a cane, he appeared to be uninjured. Paramedics checked him over briefly.
That is where we bought our car, well across the street at the Chevy dealership but it is a pretty busy strip there.
Gas prices fall as much as 10 cents a litre
Across Nova Scotia, where the gasoline retailing industry is regulated, prices fell to a reported low of $1.13 from a day-earlier range of about $1.18 to $1.21.
Tremor registered near Bridgewater
A small earthquake rumbled through Lunenburg County on Monday, sparking reports of loud noises but none of injuries or damages.
