Here are my thoughts now that the nominees are out for the best of television. My picks are in bold.
Outstanding drama series:
* The Sopranos - Never watched it but I would suspect it will win because shows that close out always win. More of a lifetime award if you ask me.* Boston Legal - No chance, I did not even know it was still on
* Grey’s Anatomy - Not a bad show since it has a that girly feel to it.
* Heroes - It peaked mid-season and from then on was so so. I don’t think it should be here.
* House - I have never watched it but based on friends loving it, I will agree it must be award worthy.
Shows I think should be here: Rescue Me, The Riches, Sleeper Cell.
Lead actress in a drama:
* Patricia Arquette, Medium -Whatever she is creepy to look at.
* Edie Falco, The Sopranos - Again, you show is over so here is your award.
* Sally Field, Brothers & Sisters - No chance.
* Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer - I have never seen it but I hear it is huge in the States.
* Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Never seen it.
* Minnie Driver, The Riches - I think if it were not for the Sopranos she would win. Awesome character.
Lead actor in a drama series:
* James Gandolfini, The Sopranos - Could they possibly win all the awards? That would be lame.
* Hugh Laurie, House - Don’t watch but I would say he is solid.
* Denis Leary, Rescue Me - I hope he wins, the show deserves some awards.
* James Spader, Boston Legal - Whatever.
* Kiefer Sutherland, 24 - Sorry Kiefer your time is up!
Missed the boat: Eddie Izzard (The Riches), Michael Ealy (Sleeper Cell), William Petersen (CSI), Ian McShane (Deadwood)
Outstanding comedy series:
* Entourage - Is getting better by the week.
* The Office - I would say my favourite show on television.
* 30 Rock - Definite sleeper pick, for those who watch you know how good it is.
* Two and A Half Men - Very funny, bad night.
* Ugly Betty - I will barf when it wins.
Should of been there: How I Met Your Mother, Weeds.
Lead actor in a comedy series:
* Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock - Funniest man on t.v.
* Steve Carell, The Office - Him and Ricky will cancel each other out. Love Michael Scott.
* Ricky Gervais, Extras - Not enough Americans see this show.
* Tony Shalhoub, Monk - I swaer to god this guy is a lock in this category. Is the show still on?
* Charlie Sheen, Two and A Half Men - Thanks for coming out.
Lead actress in a comedy series:
* America Ferrera, Ugly Betty - More barfing when she wins.
* Tina Fey, 30 Rock - I think she is one of the few leading ladies that mix humour, brains and a sense of humour. GO TINA!
* Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives - Whatever, next.
* Julie Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures of Old Christine -How??
* Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds - Great show although I would not really call her funny.
Supporting Actor in a Drama
* William Shatner, Boston Legal - I have never seen the show but he is funny.
* T.R. Knight, Grey’s Anatomy - Will get the vote for the rough year he has had on the set.
* Masi Oka, Heroes - Still not ready.
* Terry O’ Quinn, Lost - The Lost train is over, in my opinion.
* Michael Emerson, Lost - Diddo
* Michael Imperioli, The Sopranos - Don’t even know who he is.
What the? Where was anyone from Sleeper Cell or Dexter?
Supporting Actress in a Drama
* Rachel Griffiths, Brothers and Sisters - Six Feet Under flashbacks has me hoping she does not win.
* Chandra Wilson, Grey’s Anantomy - Not great, not bad.
* Katherine Heigl, Grey’s Anantomy - The “It” girl, will she keep it up?
* Sandra Oh, Grey’s Anantomy - I have to pull for Canada here.
* Lorraine Bracco, The Sopranos - Don’t watch.
* Aida Turturro, The Sopranos - Don’t watch.
Supporting Actor in a Comedy
* Kevin Dillon, Entourage - What a tough group, I am pulling for Drama. VICTORY!
* Jeremy Piven, Entourage - Ari is monry but I want Drama to get it.
* Rainn Wilson, The Office - I love the character but I think he weirds a lot of people out.
* Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother -Dark horse on a very funny show.
* Jon Cryer, Two and a Half Men - Classic filler, so that will mean he wins haha.
You have to put Ed Helms on there…..Cornell, have you heard of it?
Supporting Actress in a Comedy
* Jaime Pressly, My Name is Earl - Have only seen the show once but she was funny.
* Jenna Fischer, The Office - Nice nod but no chance.
* Conchata Ferrell, Two and a Half Men - Two from this show?? Seriously?
* Holland Taylor, Two and a Half Men - Read above.
* Elizabeth Perkins, Weeds - Very funny in a super bitch kind of way.
* Vanessa Williams, Ugly Betty - Barf.
