Me at Peggy's Cove

Hi all how is life treating you on this sunny Friday in the Fax. A lot have been going on the last few days and I have some random thoughts to share as well so I am going to try and purge my mind of all of it now.

Off to see Peggy

Yesterday I was feeling a little adventurious and leaning towards getting in the car and going somewhere to take some pictures. It was a really windy day in Halifax yesterday and I was thinking there would be some good wave shots if I hit the ocean.

So when I got home from walking Bosco, the wind had temporarily knocked out the power in the whole area. What to do with no power in the middle of the day?? Well I guess I could of read or slept but with no Internet or ability to cook lunch I grabbed the camera and the ipod and hit the road.

As I said, the idea of finding some waves seemed interesting so that made me think of going to Peggy’s Cove. It was only a 30 minute drive and there would be some waves for sure there. Got on the road and cranked up the tunes and off I went down highway 333.

I forgot how good Cold Play is and listened to them mostly as I was stuck behind two tourist busses that I knew were going to the Cove. In the summer Peggy’s Cove is easily one of Nova Scotia’s biggest tourist stops. I got a better lay of the land as well on the drive out. Noticed a few golf courses, farmer’s markets and places I would like to check out on the future.

Once I got close to my destination I saw how busy it was and I did a great job not getting frustrated with people who just walk around randomly. For those of you who have driven there you know that you just have to deal with people being in your way and not thinking about getting out of the way of cars.

Finally I parked the car and hit the rocks. I avoided the large gathering around the lighthouse and went off on my own listening to tunes to drown out the crowd. Luckily the high winds kept a lot of people near the buildings and with that face of “this is way to windy can we go home now”.

Last night I went to pick Katie up at the airport and was there a few minutes early so I waited with the masses outside the arrivals area. I’m tellin yah if you are every feeling down or just need a boost of positive energy there is nothing better than hanging out at the airport in the arrival terminal. Everyone is happy and positive and at the beginning of something fun and exciting. There is smiles, hugs, jumping up and down and total joy. Certainly makes for great people watching.

I enjoy seeing the people who are not so sure how to greet one another. Do we hug? What do we do. Lets just walk out of here. Although I will say that if you follow the same people over to the baggage area a lot of the joy disappears as they all painfully wait for luggage. Who knows how many trips or visits have been ruined because the long wait for bags has sucked the life right out of a great meeting. If you can, pack light. Your initial high of arriving will last longer.

For those of you who don’t watch So You Think You Can Dance they have a host who has gotten her way into my dreams somehow. Last night I dreamt I was dating Cat Deeley even though I generally pick on how she says things when I watch the show with Katie from time to time. It is okay though, Katie says it is okay that we date in my dreams. I am pretty sure it is just cause Katie wants to hang out with her and walk around town belting out the show’s catch phrase.

As mentioned before we got a new toilet this week and one other toilet fixed up. We now have two perfectly working bathrooms on Kline and the residents are more than pleased. The work took about an hour and no flushing is a dream.
