Highlighting this year’s preseason will be the Raptors participation in NBA Europe Live 2007. Toronto will face the Boston Celtics in Rome, Italy on Saturday, October 6, followed by a game against Lottomatica Vitrus Roma on Sunday, October 7. The tour continues in Madrid, Spain, where the Raptors will face Real Madrid on October 11.
The Raptors will return to Air Canada Centre on Wednesday October 17, to host perennial Euroleague powerhouse Zalgiris Kaunas. The Lithuiania based team is currently owned by former NBA player Arvydas Sabnois and recently won the Euroleague Championship in 1999. This will mark the fifth consecutive season the Raptors have hosted an international team. The Raptors have also hosted Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel), Benetton Treviso (Italy) and Panathinaikos (Greece) during the preseason.
Toronto will complete the preseason with three consecutive home games against Chicago, Cleveland and Washington. All three teams reached the playoffs last season.
