explosion

For all of my followers from the days of Cuzoogle on MSN Spaces to the many stlyes and changes on Wordpress over the years I thank you for being there. Thanks for being the few who clicked on my words everyday and even left a comment from time to time. I still value your time, thoughts and eyes and I hope you never stop reading.

Yesterday Cuzoogle turned that group into something more along the lines of the pack of people in the Verizon commercials.

A simple post about women in 80’s movies, adding the link to a social networking site and a lot of luck and I got sucked into the superhighway jetstream. In a 30 hour period I had over 16,000 page views and was riding high on top of some cool lists on the wordpress page and on the front page of Fark.com. It was like this wild fire that I was having a hard time keeping up with. Emails were filling up my inbox every time someone commented on a post. I was glued to watching the numbers climb like I was on Wall Street. I felt for a day that I was on top of the blog universe.

Today it has crashed for now. What seemed like an amazing day of 1000 plus views last week, now seems a little disappointing today. I know it is not true but it is the natural comedown of knowing 10,000 people were reading my blog yesterday.

This is not to brag, this is just to let you share in how crazy the last day has been for this little blog from Halifax. The net is a funny place. You can write all these amazing posts full of insight and cool ideas but they never get read. You toss up a list of seven babes from the 80’s and the world turns upside down to read it.

It took over a year to get 100,000 page views and in just over a day I had almost a quarter of that. Thanks to all who did, thanks to all who will and I have now got this kick start of motivation to figure out how to take Cuzoogle to the next level where 10,000 a day is the norm.

Here are some screenshots I had to grab just to have as blog trophies to show my grandkids one day haha.
