Malibu Maxx

Recently on August 5th, Katie and I passed the one-year mark of purchasing our first car. We bought ourselves a 2005 Malibu Maxx that has been a dream over the first year and it can only get better with time. We have had many experiences good and bad in the car and to be honest it has changed our day-to-day lives greatly. I figured a post was in order to celebrate the moment and to look back at the year that was for us and the Malibu.

Noteworthy

  • We have put just over 11, 000 Km’s on the ol’ girl so far.
  • Katie learned to drive in and now drives very confidently in the Maxx.
  • Grocery shopping is actually enjoyable.
  • We have found a lot of new areas to walk Bosco.
  • It has opened up the city and the province for us.

Trips

Bummers

  • I crashed the front end into a cement pillar that was unmarked when I was backing out of a parking spot.
  • Paying for everything haha.

Katie’s Thoughts

Well we kind of did it backwards, from my point of view anyway. We bought a car and then I got my driver’s license. I’m really glad we got the one we did, even if I was concerned at first that it was too “family” oriented. (Must have been all those comments about room for a car seat.) But the dog fits in the back, as do golf clubs, groceries, a cooler if we had one, and anything else we might like to bring along with us. I have to say that as a first car - and my first car to drive - it has been perfect. Happy Birthday, Malibu Barbie. Here’s to another great year hanging out together.
