Vacation is here

As of yesterday I am on vacation for 12 days. I mean only four of those are actual vacation days but when you bookend them with my normal days off, it is a nice stretch of down time.
Yesterday was the usual coming off the night shift day where I came home and cooked up a big breakfast and watched Rescue Me. Then I had a nap and went on with my day. Since it was pouring rain all day long I did not get up to much.
I decided to watch a movie and the one I chose was Crank. Now I normally would not want to admit to this but I am going to provide a service to you all and say, do not watch this piece of garbage. The premise is crazy to begin with where a guy will die if his adrenaline drops so he does all this high energy stuff to keep himself living. It was actually worse than I expected and even with a nap in the middle did not make it end soon enough.
Katie and I did a quick grocery shop and came home for a cozy Friday evening. A side note from the shopping trip, we scored a free container of cat litter totally by accident. What happened was when we grabbed the litter we put it underneath the cart since it is so big. When we were at the register there was some training going on for a new checker and thanks to a confusing price check on strawberries, everyone forgot to look underneath, including us. It was not until I was pushing the cart out to the car that I noticed. Oh well chalk that one up to the good guys. Free cat litter!
After a dinner of gooey grilled cheese sandwiches and soup we bunkered in for the night listening to the pouring rain. We watched another movie, Broken English staring Parker Posey. It was a realistic, kind of depressing but funny look at life of a women looking for love. Both Katie and I were finding some parts hard to watch just because it made us remember how painful the dating scene can be. I always enjoy watching Parker Posey films simply because I think she looks a lot like Katie and I just sit there and comment on how different Parker looks and stlyes would look great for Katie.

After it was over it was time to crash. I had been up for 30 odd hours besides a nap so I was ready for some serious sleep. The rain had stopped but I did not care, it was time for dreams.
Today has been a nice and relaxing day as well and the sun is out. After sleeping in I did my usual Saturday morning stuff while Katie slept a little longer. After she was up I cooked up some french toast and that filled us up pretty good. Nothing like french toast with thick cuts of fresh bread.
The afternoon has been filled with walking Bosco and getting ready for some friends coming over tonight. I made a quick run to Walmart to pick up some stuff for the new plants we have and Katie went downtown to have her hair done.
As I work on this I am awaiting that start of the Canada-U.S.A. basketball game. I know Canada has little shot but it is always nice to see how they stack up with the best. I have watched the last two American games and they look awesome. I think they are tired of this losing crap to the rest of the World and now they look very serious.
That is about it for now.
Vacation onward.
