cobra action figures

Well G.I. Joe, Cobra and Destro will be fighting it out on the big screen very soon based on what I read today on tvsquad.

Writer/director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) will take on the project, which will envision the G.I. Joe team as an international collaboration of military forces battling the evil Cobra, as opposed to the America-centric gang most of us remember from the ’80s cartoon. Fans can also expect favorites like Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Destro and Cobra Commander in this new flick. The movie could hit theaters by summer of 2009.

One of my childhood favourite memories was the cartoon movie of G.I. Joe with the giant underwater tube monsters. There was nothing better than coming home from school, throwing homework aside and watching G.I. Joe and Transformers back-to-back before dinner.

I can’t wait to see who is cast for this one. Maybe we should start our own list for the mail characters. I know he is a little old but Dennis Quaid seems to come to mind for Duke, I will give this one more thought.
