So once again this year I joined the department football pool and once again it has made a little interested in the NFL season. Normally I am not a fan and count the days until the NBA season starts but thanks to the pool I have followed the season so far.
I won my Week 1 matchup 101-90 and that was in part to one of my DL getting me 20 points on Monday night. I was going against Peyton Manning so I was expecting to lose. My team was a total autodraft because I was not around when the boys did their thing. I don’t think my team is that bad. I have Vince Young as my main QB and Larry Johnson as my star RB. They both will get better as the season goes and I did get to experience Jason Elam;s big kick to win the Denver game. That got me some points.
One of the issues I have with my team is my main WR is Terrell Owens and as much as I like the 20 points he got me this week, I think the guy is a giant turd. Hard to cheer for the guy but at this point I am kind of stuck with him. Oh well I don’t have to actually like everyone do I?
Last year I was leading the league for most of the season despite not being a football fan and being in a pool full of NFL experts. I had McNabb and he was having an MVP year. He blew up his leg and my season went in the tank.
I am 1-0 and riding high once again but I know I am only one injury away from doom. How is your fantasy team doing?? Does it make you watch the game with more interest??
