As I mentioned in yesterday’s post I had a long list of tasks to take care of. It felt like I was on Amazing Race without Phil. Looking back I think I did pretty well. All of the big items got done so now on my last day off today I can sit back and relax. There is always something to do but most of that will be in house projects today.

To reward myself after a busy day of TCB I cooked up a feast that included bbq bugers, spinach salad and sweet potato fries. Katie has been in Saint John all week so it has been dinners for one on Kline. The good is I get to eat earlier, the bad is I eat by myself and don’t get to cook for someone else.

After dinner I cleaned up and settled in to watch We Are Marshall. It is the true story of the Marshall University football team that went down in a plane crash in the early 1970’s. Mixing football with a true story always seems to be a great formula for success and once again I enjoyed the film. There was nothing amazing about it but it is nice to watch a feel good movie once in awhile. Think Rudy without Sean Austin.

I did learn a few more things about the history of the school like I did not know they won National titles or that every year they have a big moment of silence in the school square. But I think the thing that is taken from the movie and the phrase that has been used over and over in pop culture is the chant of WE ARE MARSHALL.

Hard to believe that this past year the school’s basketball team also ran into some plane issues, that must of been creepy for all who were involved. Check it out, it is a low-thinking and gives you a big smile at the end. Plus I am alway a sucker for period pieces thanks to the soundtrack and the diner scenes where everyone always eats pie.
