Bionic Woman

We are two weeks into the fall TV season for most shows and so far so good I would have to say. The usual suspects have come out blazing with interesting episodes and dramatically grabbing story lines. The Unit, Heroes and CSI picked up right where they left off last season and I am very glad they are back. I had my doubts for Prison Break going into another season but funny enough, it is not bad so far. I think as long as the show is actually in a Prison it works.

The Office season premiere had some great laughs and although Grey’s was so so I am betting it gets better as the season goes along. I am liking CBS Monday’s with the sitcom lineup of How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and Rules of Engagement. I will talk more about Big Bang in a second.

So how are the highly touted new shows doing? From the ones I have seen I might be adding some to the weekly routine in the near future.

The Bionic Woman (NBC)

I really only gave it a try because the weather was kind of crap and I just needed to watch something. I am two shows in now and I am about 35% hooked. I don’t know if it is the easy on the eyes star, or that I just need something to fill my Alias void but the show is doing it for me, so far. I think I am getting a little numb of all these secret companies that have all these secret technologies that can save or end the world. Add another one to the list here. I like the cast the show has put together and they all have some mystery that will be worth exploring. The doctor from Crossing Jordan and the doctor from Grey’s Anatomy have always been strong and I think the one female cop used to be on Third Watch. I will keep watching this show but only because I can download it when I want to. Certainly not something I would make a point of watching every week.

Back To You (Fox)

The success of this show may come down to when it is on. Just like Bionic Woman, the new Fox show is on Wednesday night when there does not seem to be much to choose from. The show is pretty cookie-cutter with the laughs and if you are a huge fan of Frasier or Raymond you will probably find something to enjoy. To be honest I find it to be a less than average show and I think it will only last because they would of had to pay Grammar and Heaton big bucks. I will watch this if I am home and bored out of my mind.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS)

Before the fall season started this show was getting destroyed by critics and was easily the show that got the most bad press. Funny thing though about Monday night’s on CBS. They turn out very enjoyable sitcoms and for the third year in a row they have a winner. How I Met Your Mother has finally reached the point of being a real hit and even though The Class got cancelled, it was a great show from last season. So now will the Big Bang make the grade? Well if it were up to Katie and I we would say yes after two shows. It has been funny and has had some laugh out loud moments. I suggest giving it a try. Seeing as HOMYM is a staple for us on Monday, it only makes sense to watch BB weekly.

Other shows

Private Practice - Just can’t do it even though I am a huge fan of Kate Walsh. Seems to cheese to me.

Kid Nation - No thanks.

K-Ville - Tried to watch it, got 10 minutes in and gave up.

Dirty Sexy Money - I do want to see this one but missed it last week. By the way, it is a little tricky typing that title into a bittorrent search engine and not getting all porn.

Pushing Daisies - Heard good things, I just don’t think I have the time.

I know that you all must think I watch a lot of TV. Well this is true but thanks to the age of downloading shows I find I have time for everything since I am not spending 12 minutes per hour watching commercials. I know it will get a lot trickier fitting it all in once 24, Lost and 30 Rock are back.
