It seems that Katie and I have started a new tradition. Being out of town for Thanksgiving and in a place that is new to us. Last year we stayed in a cabin on the shores of PEI and visited Charlottetown. This year we are heading to Cape Breton to do a drive on the Cabot Trail and taking in the fall season.

We have two places booked to stay on either side of the trail and we plan on doing stops along the way as we see what I hear is amazing scenery. I admit it will not be as long as we would want to go for but life stuff such as work etc. always get in the way. So the plan is to head out around lunch time on Friday and to be back Sunday afternoon.

We are both hoping for great weather but will settle for anything other than rain. There is a Celtic Music Festival going on in the area so we are expecting it to be busy with a lot of tourists in their golden years.

I am looking forward to taking many, many, many pictures and this year the added bonus is I don’t have to do all the driving. Perfect!

So once Friday hits and you don’t see any posts, now you know why. I will report on the weekend of fun once I find some time next week.

I hope Andrew does not hold it against us that we are going to the island he is not so fond of.

Here is the route.
