I sound like a broken record but if you are confused by reading day three of our trip without the first two as back story I invite you to read all about day one and day two of the Cape Breton trek.
Day three
Sunday morning came to the door and it was a cold reminder that winter was on the way. I was awake pretty early and got out to walk Bosco just before some hail if you can believe it started. It did not last long and I got some good time in with Bosco and the chuckit. Figure I better get him all tired out for another spell in the car. He was a pretty good boy for the whole trip.

Katie was up pretty early for her and we packed up the room. The gloomy weather made us appreciate how lucky we were to of done the Trail on a nice day. We headed over to the resto at the Motel for a simple but filling brunch. Katie described the place as a cafeteria at a senior citizens home and she was not far off. The smell and atmosphere made me think of how my life could be in 40 odd years, shudder.
With a full belly we packed up the car and hit the long road home. Pretty boring trip but I did get to drive this leg. Rain and dark skies turned the ocean into a scorned woman. Her angry waves were thrashing all along the coast as we found our way off the Trail and back to Halifax society.
Other than the not so quick stop at Tim’s in Cheticamp our trip home was quick and painless. We did the driving on empty for part of the way until we got of the Island. I had Andrew’s voice in the back of my head, saying get out, get out while you still can. We filled up at the Irving and all was good again. Katie scored a free pack of matches from a nice lady so we can never say Cape Bretoners are mean.

I think we hit Truro in about two hours and we were in the driveway around 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Not to many highlights on this day other than getting home in time to have a nap before heading to work that night.
Just over 1000 kms added to the Malibu experience I would have to say it was another great trip for Katie and myself.
Where will we go next??
