Ever wonder how you became the person you are? How much of who you are is genetic? Well I am starting to find out that a lot of your own personality comes from your parents and their parents and so on. Thanks to a book I got for my birthday it is becoming clear that my English roots are very apparent in how I have turned out.
The book is Watching The English by Kate Fox and funny enough Katie’s parents picked it up for me when they were at the airport in London. I have been slowy getting through it and every chapter is like reading about my Mum and Dad. So many times I am reading parts and thinking wow, that all makes sense now haha.
From their love of talking about the weather to the proper ways to ask questions and even the classic dry British humour. This book totally nails it and is quite entertaining in the process. I am sure Katie would find a lot of stuff in their that would explain how I act too. It is almost like homework.
When I am done I will have to pass it along to my parents so they can read it over and have a laugh as well. My only complaint is that my parents should be on the cover of the book.
Have a jolly good day.
