One thing about the Internet is there is no shortage of ways to find information about anyone on the planet. It could be the latest hot celeb or a person you went to school with and you wonder what they are up to.

The newest site on the market to search for all kinds of information is Spock.com.

On Spock, people can be searched by either name or user contributed tags such as hair colour, job, where they went to school, etc. Along with a search result, people’s profiles also list other areas on the web where they can be found and have links to any news stories relating to them.

There is also the ability to message other members so you can touch base with them. The great thing about Spock is that it’s a user oriented search where people can contribute. It sure is pretty easy to get going on.

I went to the site and signed up and was searching in no time. All you need to do is the usual form with the basics, you reply to an email and get searching.

First up of course I searched myself and funny enough it had the corrent info about my job. I then searched my girlfriend and she came up first in the list based on her career.

I filled out a few more tags about myself and my website and even more stuff came up about myself.

What a great little site. It is very easy to use, not hard to navigate around on and actually finds out good info.

The name of the site is a little odd because all I think of is that it is a site for Star Trek fans.

You can invite your friends and import friends from other services like gmail, hotmail and friendster.

I know there are numerous apps out there to help people reconnect in a virtual world but I actually like this site. I would check it out and start typing in some names and before you know it an hour will of gone by.

I am not sure if it will catch on like other more popular sites but I will bookmark it and keep an eye on what I can find out about myself now and then.

Maybe you should as well, who knows what you will find out.
