VANCOUVER - Any four-year-old knows dinosaurs are extinct.
Now, the Vancouver Park Board has figured it out.
Commissioners have officially killed off a proposal to bring 20 to 30 robotic dinosaurs to Stanley Park.
Extinction of the project comes just weeks after the park board issued a request for companies to submit ideas to install the life-sized dinosaurs as part of a plan to draw thousands of new visitors.
Public opinion was almost universally opposed to turning Stanley Park into Jurassic Park by planting the animatronic exhibits around the park’s popular miniature railway.
According to Commissioner Spencer Herbert, the “Flintstones-like” proposal has been sent back in the time machine it arrived in.
