Good morning everyone, it is early on a dreary Sunday and of course I could not sleep in past 9am.
I have my tea, the house is quiet and there is not much more to do other than blog and keep quiet for those still snoozing.
I have been off since Friday evening and it has been a low key weekend so far but I don’t really mind. Friday I had a few self-made experimental martinis after work and we watched parts of the World Series and we finished off the first season of Flight of the Conchords. What a great show, I hope there is a second season.
After a big sleep (after passing out from the martinis) I was up bright and early on Saturday morning. I took care of some blog stuff, some other computer stuff and relaxed on a quiet morning.
Once Katie was up we had breakfast which consisted of a sandwich made out of a bagel, egg, bacon and cheese. What a great way to start any day.
I walked Bosco around the village and it was already going on 2pm.
We went to Quinpool and hit the video store and then the grocery store and it was back to the house to relax and hide out for the rest of the day.
Katie read the paper and I watched a few shows upstairs that I was behind on. I did not even know Scrubs started this week until I saw it posted on a website.
For dinner we picked up the ingredients to make nachos and I went overboard on them this time. I made them in the cassarole dish and therefore they were huge!
Layers of cheese, tomato, greep pepper and sour cream topped off with a meat sauce. We were full after climbing Mount Nacho that is for sure.
It was a good thing we ate before watching the movie because we picked up Fast Food Nation.
It gave a pretty realistic look at how the big industry runs and rules America (Canada). It showed the circle of life when talking about a McDonalds like chain. Where the meat comes from, who works at these plants, how marketing people sell the product and even shows how the life of those who work at the store affect things.
It will be awhile before I can eat at a fast food joint without picturing the face of a cow or wondering if an underpayed worker spit in my food. There is a part near the end that is very grusome and shows the real world of how cows become meat. I would of been happier with the image of Ralph going to see Bovine University instead.
Once the movie was over we flipped on the World Series and what do you know the Sox were up 6-0 already. What a boring game once again. That is okay, I want it over fast so I don’t have to deal with it anymore at work.
Today is going to be another lazy day. Not that much going on, maybe a drive or walk somewhere. Katie has a recipe ready for dinner but I won’t let the choice of meal out of the bag yet. It does sound good!
I can’t wait until next Sunday when afternoon Raptors games are back. It has been too long!
Have a great Sunday everyone.
