Philadelphia at Toronto 7pm ET, The Score

Tonight the Raps kick off their season at the ACC and all of Canada will be ready to pick right up where the suprising Raptors left off.

Sure the last vision we have in our head is Calderon’s intercepted pass that could of sunk the Nets but that was last year. Let us all look ahead towards the bright future for this team.

On Monday Toronto trimmed the team down to the league standard of 15 and it is clear they are one deep squad with many interchangeable parts for Sam to play as he needs. Injuries won’t hurt Toronto as much as other teams and once we get into March Toronto should be able to wear down most teams.

The last three preseason games were a good sign to what is to come as the full team was playing and they won the games by an average of almost 30 points. The Raps are hungry to prove that last year was not a fluke and I love that they are still flying under the radar in the league.

Thanks to the Celtics, Toronto is the underdog still and I think they prefer being in that spot for now. Maybe in a few years they will be ready to walk around with the target on their back but just not yet.

The Sixers are a team looking for a new identity. A changing of the guard and a new AI will be the face of the club this year. Andre Iguodola is the best thing going in Philly now and he will be expected to score all the points, rebound all the boards and do everything else short of selling popcorn.

He is an amazing talent but in the NBA unless your name is Kobe or LeBron, you can’t do it all by yourself.

The Raptors depth, home crowd and hunger to get this season going will be too much for Philly on this night. I think it will take some time for Toronto to get going as they always do but once the third quarter hits expect there to be a double-digit lead.

Toronto opens the season with a 103-91 win over the Sixers.
