Raptors 106 Nets 69
Wow, wow, wow.
I did not see that coming.
The Raptors made the New Jersey Nets look like a bunch of highschool kids tonight in the swamp. It started out slow but once the Raps got ahead near the end of the first quarter it was a romp.
Toronto won 106-69 and that score makes it seem closer than it really was. The Nets were horrible and if it was not for Richard Jefferson it could of been a 70 point loss.
The Raptors depth clearly blitzkrieged the Nets into submission. Even the broadcasters on the Nets station were losing track of who was on the floor for the guys in red. Every Raptor scored on this night and every Raptor brought their A game.
Once again Andrea Bargnani lead the way with 21 points including horse-like shots from outside the arc. The guy was unreal and he is going to become a household name very soon.
The night cleary was going Toronto’s way when Bosh hit a three-quarter court shot to end the half. Ah it was never in doubt.
If the experts were sleeping on the Raps to start the year they are wide awake now. Funny how two games can sway opinions. All of a sudden Toronto is a team that is capable of coming out of the East. Two days ago some sites were not even putting them in the playoffs.
BC and Sam have put together a team that will be hard to deal with because they are a matchup nightmare.
On a side note Vince “The biggest crybaby” Carter had seven points. Yes he scored his 15,000th point in his career but he was a non factor thanks to AP and Delfino putting the cuffs on him early.
Chris Bosh had 15 points, Juan Dixon 14, Jose Calderon, Carlos Delfino and Anthony Parker all had 10 as the Raptors set a team record for margin of victory in a road game. Their previous best was 33 at San Antonio on Feb. 19, 1997.
Bring on the Celtics on Sunday!
