Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers
I am a little concerned to tune in tonight. What Raptors team is going to show up? The one that destroyed the Nets last week or that one that got rolled by the Bucks the other night.
I know it is early in the season and a 2-3 record is not the end of the world (see Miami) but there are some trends starting to show already I don’t like.
The Raptors are reverting to the team of a few years ago that went a little trigger happy with the jumper. Sure when they are going in it is usually lights out for the other team but when they are not they need to get the inside game going.
Bosh is starting to get back into All-Star form and the Raps need to go to him a lot more. Get him scoring and then he can kick out for open shots. Basketball is an easy game if you make it simple.
T.J. Ford has been the best and most consistant Rap to date (got em in the pool!) and the others need to follow. I know CB4 will get there and I know the bench will get it together as a whole soon.
Andrea Bargnani is moving back to coming off the bench and I like that move by Sam Mitchell. I think he is better coming in once the game is going and helps spark the second group. He will be a starter one day for sure but no need to rush it. Rasho can come in and bang with the other team’’s starting center and then hit the bench.
Tonight they hit the road for back-to-back games in Philly and Chicago.
Philadelphia is among the league leaders with 47.5 rebounds per game, while Toronto is among the worst teams with a 37.8 average.
Andre Igudola is a super freak that stuffs the boxscore nightly and every time he throws down one of those monster dunks I mumble under my breath “Hoffa”.
It could be that I am a bias writer or maybe just a crazy optimist but I think the Raptors can get this game. I really want them to even their record at .500 because I have low expections for the game in Chicago tomorrow.
The Raptors take this ugly one tonight, 95-91.
