Since moving to Halifax one of the places I miss most is IKEA. I have a good amount of IKEA stuff in my place and I always loved going to the store to get new ideas.

Walking through the endless line of fake rooms and displays was always a good time for me. Could you imagine someone actually living there?

Today over at cbc.ca I read about this guy in New York who is “living” that dream.

Mark Malkoff is living in an IKEA store for a week while his real apartment gets fumigated.

“The fact that Ikea is letting me do this is mind-boggling,” said Malkoff, lounging on a bed in his new room. “There’s no way I’m going back. I love this way too much.”

He even has a website where you can go and watch all of this. Check it out if you have a chance.

I can’t say I would ever want to live in a store but for a week I think it could be a lot of fun.

I hope Halifax gets an IKEA one day soon.
