Nothing like starting the year with some change.  After a few days of taking it all in and getting in the right mind set I am taking on the job market once again.

On Friday the company I have worked for for just over two years decided they needed to go another direction to save money and they eliminated many, many jobs. Of course it included mine leaving me a little in shock and trying to work out what I am going to do now.

The positive side being I know it was not the job I would have forever and now I have the chance to find something bigger and better that has me going ahead in life.

The down side of course is now I have to jump back in the even painful job market. Looking for work as you all know, is work. It is long days of searching, putting yourself out there and getting your hopes up. All you can do is try your best and hope that the luck is on your side.

I have years of great experience in many different areas so it is just a matter of time before I find a match.

In the mean time I can fall back on the blogs for something to do while I am looking and to have an outlet for this new chapter of my life.

Some say that my blog took form back in 2005 when it was a daily journal of looking for work when I first moved to Halifax. Well the story is about to pick up again.

I am a seasoned vet this time around and have all the ground work already done of where to look and what the city holds. I have a long list of places to send resumes to and have a handful of postings that are worth going after.

That is just after two days of being in the game. I am being positive and looking to the future. I did not get fired or let go for doing poor work. It was just one of those things out of my control that I have to look at as a chance for more.

Yes I am bummed out and everyday has some wonder to it but if you let it get to you, getting out of bed becomes a chore.

I will have down days but that is to be expected.

So stay tuned for what happens on this new journey. I feel really good for what is out there and in no time I will be back into a job I really like.
