Philadelphia at Toronto 7pm ET
So many questions for tonight’s game at the ACC. What Raptors team will show up? Can they shutdown the new AI in Philly and most importantly will CB4’s woman have a muzzle on in the fourth quarter?
I guess we will all have to tune in later and see but I am hoping that Sunday was a huge slap in the face that knocked some sense into the Raptors.
You just can’t show up at the ACC and expect to win anymore. Last year nobody took the team seriously so there was the surprise factor when road teams took the court.
Despite still being under the radar in the media, the actual players and coaches know Toronto is a good team so they come ready to play.
If Toronto wants to separate themselves from the pack in the East and make the playoffs, the first thing they have to do is stop losing games at home.
With just over half the season remaining, Toronto is 17-17. That is not a bad record but with the expectations for this club to make a dent in the conference and even win 50 games, .500 is not going to cut it.
I can’t imagine the way the team is playing right now that they will go 33-15 to end the year. So lets toss the 50 win mark out the door right now. I think they need to focus on playing hard every night and actually just get in the playoffs.
The division crown is gone unless KG, Ray RAy and The Truth all get the chicken pox or something so just set the goal at the four spot. That is home court in the first round and then just be healthy and ready.
Tonight is a must win I think against the Sixers. Not in a we lose the season is over way but in the we have to start beating the teams we should beat kind of way.
The Raptors have a good chance to end their home drought as they try to improve to 3-0 versus Philadelphia this season.
The offense will come, shooters always get hot again. It is the lack of half-court offense and the intensity on defense that has me concerned.
Playoffs is all about slow, structure offense so they have to start preparing for that.
Jose Calderon is doing his best to run to show. ESPN has jumped on board the Spanish bandwagon and Calderon is getting high praise around the league.
Bosh is doing all he can but he needs help.
Most importantly tonight if Iggy is having an off night, someone has to keep tabs on what Bosh’s lady friend is saying over in the crowd. For some reason I picture BC standing behind her ready to pull the trigger and trade her to Memphis.
My predictions have been off so tonight is a fresh start.
Raptors win 97-88, short on pizza but a big win regardless.
In case you have not seen the footage from Sunday……
